thockyFrequently asked
How is the Nixie different from a standard MX Black?
It keeps the heavier, no-nonsense MX Black weighting but runs noticeably smoother out of the box, and swaps in a milky "clear top" housing that diffuses RGB into a softer glow rather than the harsh point light you get from an opaque top.
Are these heavy switches?
Yes. At 63.5g actuation they sit firmly in heavy-linear territory, well above the 45-50g switches most stock boards ship with. They reward a deliberate typist and resist accidental presses, but they will tire out a light touch.
Do they need lube to feel good?
They are usable stock, but a light hand-lube is where they shine — it pushes the stock smoothness past the slight residual MX scratch into genuinely premium territory.
