Specs and Feel

This is a tactile switch with a rounded bump that sits roughly halfway through the 2.0mm of pre-travel, present but never sharp or jarring. Because the bump is easy to push past and the bottom-out is comparatively relaxed, it’s easy to ride the actuation point and avoid slamming into the 4.0mm of total travel over long sessions. The POM stem, nylon top and bottom housing, and stainless steel spring give it the familiar, slightly clacky Cherry sound and a stable, low-wobble feel. Stock smoothness is decent rather than glassy: there’s a touch of scratch present, but leaf ping is minimal and spring ping is essentially absent.

Tuning

Out of the box these are well composed thanks to a light factory lube on the legs, stem pole, and spring base. If the residual scratch bothers you, a thicker stem lube like TriboSys 3204 (or 3203 if you want to preserve more of the tactile snap) cleans it up nicely. One practical note: trim the stems before installation. The Ergo Clear stem fitment can stress and crack keycaps if you mount caps onto an untrimmed switch.

Verdict

Buy it if you want a real tactile experience that still feels unmistakably Cherry. The Ergo Clear sits between a too-subtle Brown and a too-heavy Clear, and even at stock it types well. The only asterisks are the mild stock scratch and the keycap-fitment caution, both easily managed. For mid-tactile fans, this is a clear pick.
