How it sounds
Frequently asked
Is the Durock Piano a heavy switch?
Not really. At 63.5g of actuation force it sits squarely in the mid-weight range — a touch heavier than a stock Cherry MX Red but well short of anything you'd call stiff. Most typists find it comfortable for long sessions.
Does the Durock Piano need lubing?
It's pleasant out of the box thanks to its POM housing, but it isn't factory-lubed to a high standard. A thin coat of 205g0 on the rails and a light spring lube removes the last of the scratch and deepens the sound.
What does the Durock Piano sound like?
Deep, rounded and slightly muted — the POM housing gives it a warm, thocky character rather than a bright clack, which is where the "Piano" name comes from.
