Pre-travel is the standard 2.0mm, but total travel is a slightly shortened 3.4mm, which gives a marginally snappier return than a full 4.0mm switch.

The modified POM stem riding in a PC top housing with a P5 bottom is where the Amber earns its reputation: smoothness is the headline. Stroke-to-stroke consistency is excellent and scratch is essentially absent thanks to even factory lubing. Stem wobble is well controlled. There’s a hint of N/S play if you go looking, but nothing that intrudes in normal use. The sound profile is deep and muted, more rounded thock than high clack.

Tuning

These really don’t need work. Factory lube is applied well and the housing pairing is smooth from the start, so stock is the recommended state for most builds. If you enjoy tinkering, a thin film of lube on the springs can shave the last bit of spring ping, and switch films are largely unnecessary given how tight the housings sit.

The only people who should skip are heavy-handed typists who prefer a firmer 50-55g spring, or anyone chasing a bright, clacky signature. The Amber is tuned for warmth, not snap.
