The result is a smoothness that is hard to beat at this price. The PA12 top and POM bottom housing keep the sound clean and slightly rounded rather than sharp: UPE’s softness and the POM bottom take the edge off the top frequencies, so it lands gentler than HMX’s clackier switches. Wobble is low and the factory lube is even.

Tuning

Serene Green is genuinely good stock and barely worth tuning. UPE stems are self-lubricating, so adding heavy lube can actually muddy the glide rather than improve it; at most, leave it alone. The light spring means any extra drag is felt immediately, so resist the urge to over-mod. If you find the 42g weighting too light for your typing style, the simplest fix is a spring swap to something firmer rather than fiddling with lube. Films are unnecessary. This is a build-and-enjoy switch.

Verdict

Buy Serene Green if you want an exceptionally smooth, very light linear at a budget price and you favor a gentle, rounded sound over bright clack. The UPE stem punches above its cost. If you want more weight or a punchier sound, HMX Macchiato V2 is the heavier, clackier pick, and HMX Moonlit Bleu offers a similar light feel with selectable weights. For effortless smoothness, though, Serene Green is hard to beat for the money.
