The Vintage Citrus runs 48g actuation and a close 53g bottom-out on a 22mm KOS single-stage extended spring. The travel is the headline: a short 1.0mm pre-travel and 3.0mm total, courtesy of a long pole. That means you actuate fast and hit a firm, defined bottom quickly. The T3 stem glides smoothly with very little scratch, and stem wobble is impressively tight, giving the switch a stable, precise feel. Because both housing halves are nylon (PA12 top, PA66 bottom), the acoustics are deep and thocky, and the long pole adds a clean pop to the bottom-out. Factory lube is applied well enough that it feels finished stock.

Tuning

The Vintage Citrus is excellent out of the box and needs nothing. If you want to refine it, a thin housing film deepens the already-thocky sound and a spring bag-lube clears any faint ping. The short travel and tight tolerances mean lube has less to fix here than on a looser switch. Spring swaps are optional; the 48g/53g weighting is well balanced for both speed and comfort.

Verdict

Buy the Vintage Citrus if you want a fast, stable, deep-sounding linear at a budget price. The short long-pole travel makes it especially good for gaming. It is snappier and deeper than the longer-travel HMX Sunset Gleam, and far smoother than the scratchy Sonja. The main catch is availability. Skip it only if you prefer a long, full keystroke, where a standard 3.8mm-travel switch like the HMX Nap will suit you better.
