Specs and Feel

The Xinhai comes in two builds: 37g actuation / 46g bottom-out, and 55g / 62.5g. Pre-travel is 2.0mm and total travel is a slightly short 3.4mm on a 22mm KOS single-stage extended spring. The POM stem provides a smooth, consistent glide, and stem wobble is genuinely minimal, one of the switch’s most praised traits and part of its stable, precise feel. The PA12 top and modified-nylon bottom housing give a balanced sound: there is a clacky brightness and pop to the bottom-out, but the nylon keeps it grounded so it never turns thin or sharp. Factory lube is applied well and the switch feels complete stock.

Tuning

The Xinhai is excellent out of the box and needs nothing. If you want to refine it, a thin housing film deepens the sound slightly and a spring bag-lube clears any faint ping, though there is little to fix given the tight tolerances. The two stock weights are well chosen, so spring swaps are optional. This is a drop-in switch for most people.

Verdict

Buy the Xinhai if you want a smooth, stable, balanced linear with a satisfying clack and excellent wobble control. It pairs well with a resonant board and plate. It is brighter and snappier than the warm HMX Su Pink R2, and far smoother than the scratchy Sonja. The light 37g is a gaming favorite; the 55g suits heavy typists. There is very little reason to skip it unless you specifically want a deep, muted signature.
