The Yogurt S comes in two builds: 37g actuation / 43g bottom-out, and 45g / 53g. Pre-travel is 2.0mm and total travel is 3.5mm on a 22mm KOS single-stage spring. The headline is the materials. The P7 bottom housing is HMX’s stiffest, packed with fiberglass, and the stem is a hardened POM — both chosen for rigidity, which is what produces the crisp, high-pitched, resonant signature. The PA12 top adds a touch of warmth so it does not turn brittle. The glide is smooth and clean, and the light spring keeps the action quick. This is a switch whose feel is good but whose sound is the real story.

Tuning

The Yogurt S is good stock and the factory lube is competent, but tuning is largely about preserving its character. Avoid heavy lube: over-lubing dulls the crisp top-end you bought the switch for. A spring bag-lube to remove ping is the safest mod. If you want the brightest possible result, pair it with a stiff plate (FR4 or polycarbonate) and a lively case rather than dampening foam.

Verdict

Buy the Yogurt S if you specifically want a crisp, high-pitched, clacky linear and intend to build around that sound. It delivers a sharpness most HMX linears deliberately avoid. It is far brighter than the warm, deep HMX Su Pink R2 or Su’s nylon stablemates, and snappier than the balanced Xinhai. Skip it if you want a quiet or thocky board; for that, look at the muted HMX Taro or a full-nylon linear instead.
