If you liked the original BCP’s poppy nylon sound but never wanted to assemble one by hand, this is the easy way in.

Specs and Feel

This is a short-throw linear: roughly 1.4mm pre-travel and 3.5mm total travel, with a 52g actuation rising to about 63.5g at the bottom. The 20mm single-stage spring keeps the push fairly even rather than ramping up hard at the end. The stem is the same Cream-style POM, and both housings are PA66 nylon with no fiberglass, which is exactly what gives this switch its clacky, woody pop instead of a glassy click. Smoothness is good but not glass. There is a faint POM-on-nylon graininess that some read as creamy and others as light texture. The bottom housing is thickened versus the original recipe, so it reads a touch deeper and less rattly. Factory lube is present and helps.

Tuning

It is usable stock, which is the whole point of buying the recreation. That said, the POM/nylon pairing responds well to a thin coat of 205g0 on the rails plus a dab on the spring. It pushes the slight texture out and lets the nylon thock breathe. Films are mostly unnecessary because the BOX-adjacent stem already keeps wobble low; spend your effort on lube and a good keycap set instead.

Verdict

Buy the Kailh BCP if you want a nylon-housed clacky linear with personality and you would rather not source a Cream stem and Cherry housing yourself. It is louder and more characterful than a smooth-and-quiet Gateron Milky Yellow, and warmer than a polycarbonate BOX linear like the Box Black. Skip it only if you want dead-silent smoothness; the nylon clack is the point of the switch.
