Specs and Feel

The Hush runs 50g of actuation over a short 1.8mm pre-travel and 3.6mm of total travel; the shorter throw comes from the silencing pads. The stem is a nylon rounded MX design with a POM slider, sitting in a polycarbonate top and nylon bottom housing. That rounded stem and POM slider combination is why the slide stays smooth despite the dampeners. Bottom-out is cushioned and satisfying: the pads absorb the impact but leave just enough character that you feel where the key lands, instead of the dead, padded nothing some silent switches give you. The BOX design seals the contacts for IP54 dust and water resistance and adds stem stability. The housing isn’t fully clear, so RGB shines through only partially.

Tuning

These are excellent stock and need no work. The factory lube is even, the POM slider handles smoothness, and the dampeners are already dialed. Pulling them apart to add stem lube risks gumming the silencing pads and turning a pleasant switch mushy. If you must, a tiny bit of spring lube cures any rare ping, but the springs here are quiet to begin with. Save your effort and just build with them.

Verdict

Buy the Box Hush V3 if you want a silent linear that doesn’t sacrifice typing satisfaction for quiet. It is the more characterful, slightly louder counterpart to the deeply muted Kailh KT Grey. Where the KT Grey goes for maximum hush, the Hush keeps a pleasant voice alive. If you need absolute silence above all, the KT Grey edges it; if you want the best-feeling quiet switch, the Hush is the pick.
