The Kailh Choc Round Brown 45g is arguably the best true low-profile tactile. My take on its bump, MX-cap compatibility, footprint caveats and value.

medium-thockyFrequently asked
Is the Choc Round Brown a good low-profile tactile?
Among genuinely low-profile tactiles, it is one of the best choices. It is noticeably better than standard browns and a big step up from the original flat-stem Choc tactiles, even if it is not as refined as boutique MX tactiles.
Will it fit my board?
Check the footprint carefully. The Round series has a unique centering peg and pin layout that does not fit every Choc PCB, so confirm your board supports Choc Round switches before buying.
Can I use MX keycaps?
It accepts low-profile MX-stem keycaps, which is a major convenience over the flat stems of the original Choc tactiles.
