Tuning

Like the rest of the Choc Round line, this is not a switch that rewards heavy modding. The slim internals are fiddly and the stock travel is acceptable. A thin lube on the rails can add a little smoothness if you want it, but most people will run these stock. The bigger decision is whether low-profile suits you at all; if the short travel feels cramped, no amount of tuning will lengthen it. Pairing with the right low-profile MX keycaps is the most worthwhile thing you can do.

Buy the Choc Round Red if you want a light, fast linear for a slim board and you are comfortable with a short travel. It is cheap and MX-cap compatible. If you prefer feedback, the Choc Round Brown tactile is the better-loved sibling, and if you want a longer keypress you are better off with a full-height linear entirely. The Round Red does its job, but the short throw is the thing to try before you commit.
