The stem is a partial-BOX POM slider riding in a polycarbonate top and a Nylon PA66 bottom housing, on a stainless-steel long spring. That housing pairing is doing real work on the sound: the silicone dampeners on the stem absorb both the down-stroke and the return, so instead of a clack you get a soft, padded thud. Factory lube means there’s very little scratch to speak of, and stem wobble is well controlled for a plate-mount switch. The partial-BOX design also helps keep things stable and a touch dust-resistant, and it supports SMD LEDs if you want per-key lighting to shine through.
Tuning
These are good stock. The factory lube is competent and the dampeners are already tuned, so there’s no acoustic reason to pull them apart. For tinkerers, a light hand-lube on the springs (210 or 105) will smooth out the return ping on a few outliers, and switch films can tighten the housing fit marginally. For most people the right move is to drop them in and type. Adding more lube risks gumming the dampeners and making an already-soft switch feel sluggish.
