Specs and Feel

This is a tactile with a clear but gentle bump near the top of the stroke. Actuation lands at 57g over a 2.0mm pre-travel, with a short 3.6mm total travel, so bottom-out arrives a touch sooner than the MX standard. The 21.5mm double-stage stainless steel spring is the interesting bit: it keeps the early travel light and ramps the resistance up toward the floor, giving a slightly progressive feel rather than a flat push. A POM stem rides in a polycarbonate top and nylon bottom housing, and the factory lube leaves the stroke smooth with little scratch. The PC-over-nylon pairing keeps the sound on the medium, rounded side, fuller and a bit deeper than an all-PC switch, without being loud. The bump itself reads as smooth and rounded rather than crisp, so this is firmly a comfort tactile, not a punchy one.

Tuning

It runs well stock. The factory lube and double-stage spring mean there’s little to gain from a teardown, and over-lubing a tactile can round the bump off further than you’d want. If you do open them, keep lube off the tactile leg so you don’t dull the bump, and consider films only if your housings show play. For most people, drop them in as shipped.

Verdict

Buy the Super Banana if you want a smooth, medium-weight tactile for daily typing that needs no work out of the bag. It’s a sensible, comfortable switch rather than an exciting one. If you want a sharper, more pronounced bump, look to a punchier tactile; if you need the same feel without the noise, Keychron’s own Silent Banana mutes it cleanly. As a no-fuss everyday tactile, the Super Banana earns its place.
