That UPE-on-nylon pairing plus factory lube gives a clean, scratch-free slide, and the dual-nylon housing keeps the sound balanced and a touch deep rather than bright or pingy. Stem wobble is well managed for the price. Across the weights the character stays consistent; only the resistance and the firmness of the bottom-out change.

Tuning

These are good stock. Factory lube is applied evenly and the UPE stem doesn’t need help to feel smooth, so you can build straight from the bag. If you like to fine-tune, a light spring lube removes any occasional ping and switch films can tighten the housing fit slightly, but neither is required. As with most UPE linears, resist heavy stem lube — it adds nothing here and can dull the clean slide. The main decision isn’t tuning, it’s choosing the right weight up front.
