This is a true linear — a clean glide with no bump or click. It actuates at 42g over 2.0mm of pre-travel, bottoming out at a light 50g with a slightly shortened 3.6mm total travel that gives the stroke a compact finish. The deep sound is no accident: the U5 UPE stem and PA12 nylon bottom housing are both soft materials chosen specifically to absorb volume and lower pitch, while the 7-sphere stem tip rounds off the bottom-out. A 21mm single-stage Japanese wire spring handles the return, and factory lube keeps travel smooth with no notable scratch. Owners describe the deep, soft sound as genuinely soothing, and note the switches drop into and pull out of hot-swap sockets easily.

Tuning

There’s little to do here — the Little Elf is good stock, factory-lubed and ready to type. The one common modification isn’t about smoothness but feel: some owners swap the stock spring for a heavier 22mm 65g spring to firm up the keypress, since the stock 50g bottom-out is on the light side. Films are unnecessary given the soft housing fit.

Verdict

Buy the Little Elf if a deep, quiet, low-pitched linear is the goal and you don’t mind a light spring. It delivers the most damped sound in Keygeek’s sphere-tip family with zero setup work. If you want more volume and clack, the Keygeek Little Witch is the opposite end of the same lineup; if you want deep but slightly firmer, the Keygeek Y2 is worth a look. For muted thock on a budget, though, the Little Elf is hard to beat.
