Keygeek Neo Oat 36g

My review of the Keygeek Neo Oat 36g: a featherweight nylon linear for the Evo80 with creamy smoothness, translucent tops and a no-lube-needed feel.

Frequently asked

Is 36g too light for typing?

It is genuinely featherweight, which makes it superb for fast touch typing but easy to mis-trigger if you rest your fingers heavily. If you bottom out hard, the lighter weight will feel airy rather than substantial.

Do the Neo Oat switches need lube?

No — the milky nylon housings and L4 stem are smooth enough stock that hand-lubing is optional. Most people happily run them as they come.

Will the LEDs shine through?

Yes, the translucent white tops diffuse RGB nicely and look especially good over a POM plate, so this is a solid choice for a lit board.
