A 20mm single-stage Japanese spring keeps the return snappy. Factory lube is applied evenly, so smoothness is good out of the bag and scratch is minimal. Wobble is typical for a budget Keygeek — controlled enough to stay unobtrusive once keycaps are on.

Tuning

The Orange Boi is fine stock; the factory lube does most of the work. If you build a quiet board and want to remove any faint spring ping, a light hand-lube on the springs cleans that up. Films aren’t necessary given the housing fit, so most builders can drop these straight in and play.

Verdict

Buy the Orange Boi if you want a cheap, light, slightly bright linear and value being able to pick your spring weight. The 40g option in particular is a strong fill for fast typists and gamers who hate resistance. If you’d rather a deeper, more muted sound at a similar price, the Keygeek Rye 36g or Keygeek Little Elf are the better calls. For an easy, no-fuss light linear, though, the Orange Boi gets the job done.
