Specs and Feel

There is no quoted actuation figure, but it bottoms out near 57.5g over 1.8mm of pre-travel and 3.7mm of total travel on a 22mm single-stage spring in a standard MX structure. Stock, the POM-blend stem against the UMPE housings has a perceptible graininess on the downstroke — that is the trade-off of shipping bare. Wobble and tolerances are good, which matters here because tight housings are what make a switch reward tuning. The UMPE-and-silicon bottom housing pushes a full, slightly deep signature once the scratch is lubed out, landing in rounded medium-thocky territory rather than bright clack.

Tuning

This switch is a tuning project, full stop. Plan on a thin coat of 205g0 on the stem rails and legs, plus spring lube to kill ping — that single pass transforms it from gritty to glassy. Films are worthwhile if your tolerances feel loose, though many will be fine without. Do not over-lube the pole; the bottom housing is already silicon-blended for a softer landing, and a wet pole muddies it. If you are not willing to do this work, you are paying a premium for a switch that performs below its price stock.

Verdict

Buy the Raw if you are a tuner who wants a high-ceiling linear to make your own — well lubed and filmed, it competes with much pricier switches. If you want results out of the bag, the Keygeek Muse or Sanglei deliver the same brand DNA already factory-lubed for less effort and money. The Raw is for people who consider the lube session part of the fun.
