Specs and Feel

The polycarbonate top and nylon bottom housing are the source of that deep, soft character: nylon absorbs impact and rounds off the high frequencies, giving the bottom-out a thocky, padded quality. The POM stem slides cleanly against the housing, and factory lube keeps scratch low. A 15.5mm stainless-steel spring snaps the stem back quickly despite the gentle weighting. Wobble is acceptable for the price, and the overall impression is of a switch designed to feel soft rather than crisp.

Tuning

Grapefruits are comfortable stock and don’t demand work. If you want to chase the deepest possible sound, films will tighten the housing and reduce any hollowness, and a careful spring lube removes faint ping. But the factory lube already does most of the heavy lifting here — for a daily typing board, run them as they come.

Verdict

Buy these if you want a soft, deep-sounding linear on a budget and you prefer thock over clack. Compared to the KTT Cabbage Tofu, the Grapefruit trades some of that switch’s balance for extra warmth and a quieter bottom-out. If you instead want brightness and a sharper pop, the long-pole KTT Mint goes the other direction. For a cozy, low-noise linear, the Grapefruit is the one to grab.
