Specs and Feel

The polycarbonate top and bottom housing make it sound clacky and bright, a clear contrast to the warmer nylon-housed switches KTT builds. The POM stem keeps the post-bump slide smooth, and factory lube tames scratch. A 15.5mm gold-plated spring keeps the return crisp. Wobble is reasonable for the price.

Tuning

Tactiles are trickier to lube than linears because heavy lube can flatten the bump. The Matcha is fine stock, but if you want to refine it, lube only the spring and the lower stem rails — keep the legs of the stem clean so the tactile event stays intact. Films help if the housing rattles. Given the gentle bump, most people will be happy leaving these alone.

Verdict

Buy the Matcha if you want a light, soft, clacky tactile on a budget — it’s especially good for someone curious about tactiles but put off by stronger bumps. If you want a sharper, more defined tactile event, the KTT Phalaenopsis with its partial-box stem hits harder. For a gentle, bright daily tactile, though, the Matcha is the easier place to start.
