The POM stem against polycarbonate top and bottom housings is the classic budget-smooth pairing — POM glides nicely and the PC housing keeps the sound on the fuller, rounder side rather than sharp or clacky. Stem wobble is acceptable for the price but not class-leading; you will notice a little play if you are coming from a premium switch. Factory lube smooths the stroke and tames most of the scratch you would otherwise expect at this cost.

Tuning

Pine is genuinely fine stock, which is the main reason to buy it. The factory lube is applied well enough that you can drop it straight into a build. If you want to chase the last bit of refinement, a thin hand-lube on the rails and a touch on the springs will quiet ping and tighten the stroke. Films can help with the slight housing wobble, but on a switch this cheap the labor-to-payoff ratio is debatable — most people are better off just typing on them.

Buy KTT Pine if you want a cheap, low-effort linear for a daily driver or a first hand-lubed project — it is smoother than its price suggests. It plays in the same sandbox as the KTT Sea Salt Lemon, which is lighter and a bit more refined with its progressive spring; if you prefer a slightly heavier, simpler curve, Pine is the pick. Skip it only if you are chasing premium smoothness or minimal wobble, where pricier switches clearly pull ahead.
