Specs and Feel

This is a 60g (±5g) tactile using a metal-leaf contact mechanism rather than the MX-style stem-and-leaf you see everywhere else. The tactile event comes from that leaf, and because Matias holds it stationary, you get the bump without the click that the loud-and-proud Click version produces. Two sets of internal rubber dampeners absorb the impact on both downstroke and upstroke, which is what drops the volume so dramatically and gives the keypress its soft, muted landing. The trade-off of any dampened switch applies: the bottom-out feels slightly cushioned rather than crisp, and the Alps feel is a little less glassy-smooth than premium MX linears. Rated for 50 million actuations, so durability is not a worry.

Tuning

There is essentially no aftermarket tuning culture for Alps switches, and that is fine — the dampeners and stationary leaf already do the quieting for you. You cannot easily swap springs or films the way you would on an MX switch, so treat these as a finished product. The most useful “tuning” is at the board level: a dampened case and a foam mod will complement the switch’s quiet character. Lube is generally left alone here.

Buy the Quiet Click if you own or are building an Alps-mount keyboard and want genuine quiet tactility for an office or shared space — it is the dampened sibling to the Matias Click, trading the loud click for peace. Skip it entirely if you are on a standard MX board, because the mount and keycaps simply will not fit. For the niche it serves, it is one of the few credible silent tactiles around.
