The all-POM housing needs to break in. Fresh out of the box they can feel scratchy, but after some use — or a proper lube job — they smooth into one of the most distinctive linears around.
Should I lube NovelKeys Creams?
Yes, more than most. A thicker grease like Krytox 205g0 transforms them, removing the stock scratch and bringing out their signature deep sound.
What makes the Cream sound special?
The all-POM construction produces a deep, dry, "creamy" tone unlike the brighter sound of PC or nylon switches. It's the reason they became a cult favorite.
