Specs and Feel

This is a Hall-effect linear, so actuation is magnetic and adjustable in software rather than fixed by a metal leaf. It uses a POM stem in a PC top and closed PA bottom housing, with a total travel of about 3.4mm and a bottom-out around 40g or 50g depending on the variant. The closed PA bottom is the key to the sound — it traps and deepens the acoustics into a low, thocky note, while the POM stem keeps the glide smooth and quiet. Stem wobble is genuinely reduced compared to typical budget switches, which is a big part of why it feels so consistent. One caveat on the lighter spec: the gap between starting and bottom-out force is small, so it suits steady typing more than rapid double-taps.

Tuning

This one is good stock — the factory lube is well applied and the closed housing already does the acoustic work, so there’s little reason to tear it down. If you’re chasing the last bit of refinement you could add a touch of spring lube, but films aren’t needed given the tight tolerances and reduced wobble. For a magnetic switch, where the appeal is largely set-and-forget software actuation, leaving these alone is the right call.

Verdict

Buy the Owlab Ti HE if you have an HE board and want a smooth, deep-sounding magnetic linear without paying boutique prices. It’s one of the best HE values around and a confident, consistent performer. If you specifically want a snappier, more separated force curve you may prefer a different HE option, but for a buttery, low-pitched daily driver on a magnetic board, the Ti HE is an easy recommendation.
