The standout is the housing — Tecsee’s proprietary PME, paired with a POM long-pole stem. PME is self-lubricating, so the Carrot delivers near-perfect consistency and smoothness with almost no scratch, and it gives the switch that signature high-pitched, crisp clack rather than a deep tone. The long pole and shortened travel contribute to the sharp, snappy bottom-out.

Tuning

These are excellent stock thanks to the self-lubricating PME and a light factory lube job, so smoothness isn’t something you’ll need to chase. If anything bothers you it’ll be a touch of spring noise, which a small amount of lube on the spring resolves. I’d avoid heavy housing lube — the bright PME sound is the reason to buy these, and damping it sands off the character. Films are generally unnecessary given Tecsee’s tight tolerances.

Buy the Carrot 55g if you want a smooth, medium-heavy linear with a genuinely unique high-pitched signature and you don’t want to do any work to get there. They’re brighter and heavier than most budget linears; compared to the tactile Tecsee Coral 55g they share the same PME-driven crispness but in linear form. Skip them only if you prefer a deep, thocky sound — the Carrot is firmly in clacky territory.
