The POM stem runs in PC-over-nylon housings — the polycarbonate top adds a little brightness and shine-through while the nylon bottom rounds out the impact, landing the sound in medium-thocky territory rather than sharp. The bump itself is modest and smooth, a refined take on the classic light tactile rather than anything snappy. Factory lube means low scratch out of the box, and stem wobble is fine for the price.

Tuning

These are good stock, so tread lightly. If you want a slicker upstroke, a thin tactile-appropriate lube on the rails (avoid the leaf and the bump) cleans up any residual scratch without flattening the tactility. The steel spring can occasionally ping in a hollow case; a quick spring lube fixes it. Films are optional given the housing fit. The mistake to avoid is over-lubing — too much and the already-gentle bump disappears.

Verdict

Buy the Golden Brown V3 if you want an affordable, comfortable tactile for typing and general use and you prefer a soft bump over a sharp one. If you want a more pronounced, punchy tactile event you’ll be happier with something like a Boba U4T or a Holy Panda clone. Against TTC’s own Golden Red V3 linear, the Golden Brown trades smoothness for that signature gentle bump — pick it when you want feedback.
