That short actuation is the defining trait — presses register almost immediately, which is the whole appeal for fast games but does mean accidental actuations are easier when resting fingers. The partial box-style POM stem in PC-over-nylon housings keeps things stable and gives a brighter, clackier tone than a full nylon switch. Factory lube keeps scratch low; smoothness is good for the money. Honest framing: at this price, UHMWPE-stem Gaterons and JWK-made linears edge it on pure feel and sound, but they aren’t speed switches.

Tuning

The Quick Silver benefits from a thin hand-lube — 205g0 on the rails and a little spring lube — which cleans up residual scratch and quiets any ping, pushing it closer to the boutique competition. Films are optional given the housing fit. Keep lube thin so the short, snappy actuation stays crisp. If you want it quieter, swapping to a softer keycap material does more than lube here.

Verdict

Buy the Quick Silver if you specifically want a cheap speed linear with an early actuation for gaming. If you mainly care about feel and sound rather than actuation speed, a standard-travel linear like TTC’s own Golden Red V3 — or a UHMWPE Gateron — will satisfy more for similar money. Pick the Quick Silver for the short throw, not for chart-topping smoothness.
