Specs and Feel

Venus actuates at 45g and bottoms out around 52g, so the press is light and the end of travel is soft rather than a hard wall. Actuation sits at 1.8mm with 3.8mm of total travel — close to a classic linear profile. The standout engineering is a lengthened 6.0mm core slider riding a long track in the housing: more guided contact means the stem stays centered, which is why wobble is so low. A POM top over a polycarbonate bottom is what gives the deep, poppy signature — the POM adds body while the PC base keeps it from going muddy. The factory lube is even and quiet, and TTC fits a light condenser for shine-through if you run RGB. The one feel caveat isn’t the switch itself: short keycaps can catch the rounded top housing and creak, an easy fix.

Tuning

This is a switch you can leave alone. The factory lube is well applied and the spring doesn’t ping, so most people should run it stock. If you want to tweak, a longer or two-stage spring will firm the return without killing the light actuation, and a thin re-lube of the rails deepens the bottom-out a touch. Films aren’t necessary given how little the stem already moves.

Verdict

Buy the Venus if you want a cheap linear that punches above its weight on smoothness and sound. It’s a better stock experience than a lot of switches at twice the price, and the low wobble makes it forgiving in any build. If you’d prefer the same poppy character with a slightly shorter, faster actuation, look at the TTC Tiger Standard; for most people, though, the Venus is the more satisfying typer of the two.
