Specs and Feel

Camellia actuates at 42g and bottoms out around 52g, light enough to stay easy on the fingers across its full 2.0mm pre-travel and 4.0mm total travel. WingTree builds it with PA66 nylon for both the top and bottom housing and a modified POM stem with a flat tip — that flat bottom-out plus the nylon base is what produces the clean, full, slightly deep sound. Unlike switches that chase zero friction, Camellia is intentionally a touch scratchy: a mild, neutral texture you feel on slow presses. The 20mm single-stage spring keeps the return tidy, and wobble is well controlled. The lubed version gets a thin coat of 205g0 on the stem legs and sliders with the bottom housing left dry to avoid pooling.

Tuning

Camellia is good stock, but how you buy it matters. The lubed version is the smoother daily driver; the unlubed version is for people who actively want more scratch and texture. If you take the lubed one and still want it slicker, a careful re-lube of the rails will quiet the scratch, though you’ll lose some of the intended character. Springs are fine as shipped and the housing doesn’t need films.

Verdict

Buy the Camellia if you want a clean, classic-feeling nylon linear with a bit of deliberate texture and a deep sound. It’s not trying to be the smoothest switch on the shelf, and that’s the point. If you want a similar full-travel nylon-housing linear but smoother and cheaper, the WEKT Wild Gardenia is the alternative — choose Camellia when you specifically want that refined, mildly scratchy retro feel.
