Specs and Feel

Qingyan actuates at 38g and bottoms out near 56g, with a 2.4mm pre-travel and a relatively short 3.3mm total travel. The defining trait is the bump: it’s pronounced and sits at the start of the keypress, so you get immediate, unmistakable feedback rather than a gentle mid-stroke rise. After the bump, the UPE stem keeps the rest of the travel smooth — UPE is naturally slippery, which is why a strong tactile like this doesn’t feel scratchy on the way down. The all-PC housing is what gives the deep, full, rich sound; polycarbonate damps brightness and the bottom-out lands with body. The 21mm spring keeps the return brisk and wobble in check.

Tuning

Qingyan is excellent stock and best left mostly alone. Lubing a tactile is risky — too much on the legs rounds off the very bump you bought it for — so if you lube at all, keep it to the rails and stay away from the tactile event. The spring is fine as shipped. The housing doesn’t need films, and the deep sound is already there from the materials, so foam in the board is all the help it needs.

Verdict

Buy the Qingyan if you want a crisp, front-loaded tactile with a deep, rich voice — a rare combination at this price. It punches well above its cost and needs nothing out of the box. If you’d prefer a smoother, bump-free experience, pair your board with a linear like the Wingtree Camellia instead; but for tactile fans who want feedback and depth together, Qingyan is one of the easiest recommendations here.
