thockyFrequently asked
What keyboards work with the Gateron Aurora Dual Rail Magnetic?
These are Hall Effect switches, so they only function in keyboards with a magnetic-sensing PCB — practically speaking, Keychron Q HE / K HE and Lemokey boards. They will not register in standard mechanical keyboards, and they are not guaranteed to work in every HE board because magnet polarity and sensor tuning vary between brands.
How heavy are these switches?
They are on the heavier side for a magnetic linear, with a roughly 50g starting force climbing to about 70g at bottom-out. That makes them a good fit if you find lighter HE switches too easy to mash and want more deliberate keystrokes.
Why is it called "Dual Rail"?
The stem rides on two rails rather than one, which reduces side-to-side play and keeps the slider tracking straight through the longer travel. The result is noticeably less wobble than you get from many single-rail magnetic stems.
