The short 3.0mm total travel and 2.0mm pre-travel make the stroke feel brisk and reactive. You reach the bump fast and reset quickly. The PC top and Nylon PA66 bottom housing combine for the headline trait: a high-pitched tactile actuation paired with a more rounded, neutral bottom-out. Stem wobble is well controlled and the POM stem keeps travel clean; out of the box smoothness is solid thanks to the factory lube, with only minor scratch on the upstroke.

Tuning

These arrive pre-lubed and are perfectly happy stock. If you want to refine them, a light coat of lube on the rails and springs smooths the upstroke without dulling the bump, and switch films will firm up the housing and tame the brighter overtones for a cleaner, more consistent sound.

Verdict

Buy the Azure Dragon if you want an immediate, top-loaded tactile with a bright, energetic sound profile. It is one of the more characterful Type-R-adjacent options. Skip it if you prefer a deeper, more muted bottom-out or a mid-travel bump; this switch is unapologetically high-pitched and front-heavy, which is exactly its appeal for the right typist.
