How is the Gateron Blue different from the Cherry MX Blue?
They share the same click-jacket concept and a similar 60g actuation, but Gateron's housings tend to feel a touch smoother out of the box. The click character is comparable — crisp and high-pitched — at a far lower price.
Are Gateron Blues loud enough to bother people nearby?
Yes. Like any click-jacket switch, the Blue is genuinely loud and carries across a room. They're great for personal desks and gaming setups, but a poor fit for shared offices or calls.
Should I lube Gateron Blue switches?
Lubing a clicky switch is tricky — too much on the slider or click jacket mutes the snap you bought them for. Leave them stock, or apply only a light touch to the springs if you want to quiet spring ping.
