No. Built-in dampening pads on the stem cushion both the bottom-out and the upstroke, so it is one of the quieter ways to keep a tactile bump. It is well suited to shared offices and late-night typing.

Lightly tactile. There is a small rounded bump near the top of the stroke, but the dampening softens it further, so it reads as gentle rather than crisp. If you want a pronounced snap, look at a sharper tactile switch instead.

It is usable stock, but a thin coat of lube on the rails tightens up the slight scratch and stem wobble. Skip the springs unless you also want to quiet a faint ping.
