Does the Gateron Dawn work in a normal mechanical keyboard?
No. The Dawn is a magnetic Hall effect switch and only works in boards built with Hall effect sensors. It won't function in a standard hot-swap or soldered MX board, and even among magnetic boards compatibility can vary, so confirm your PCB supports it before buying.
How light is the Gateron Dawn?
It starts at roughly 30g and bottoms out around 50g, making it one of the lighter magnetic linears. Some users still find it a touch light and pair it with heavier keycaps to add a little resistance.
Can you adjust the actuation point on the Dawn?
Yes. On a compatible Hall effect board the actuation can be set anywhere from about 0.5mm to 3.8mm in fine 0.10mm steps, plus rapid-trigger style behavior depending on your firmware.
