This is a medium-weight linear: 60g to actuate, climbing to 70g at a full 4.0mm bottom-out. The V2 housing uses upgraded contact leaves to prevent stem fallout, and the Ink blend keeps travel very smooth, with effectively no scratch through the stroke. Stem wobble is well controlled in both directions, tight enough that the dampened landing never feels imprecise. The silencing pads shorten the effective travel feel slightly and round off the bottom-out, so instead of the Ink Black’s deep clack you get a soft, cushioned stop. It’s a more substantial silent feel than most gummy alternatives, retaining a sense of weight and follow-through.

Tuning

These sound and feel good stock, which is half the appeal of a silent switch. If you want to refine them, a thin hand-lube on the rails and spring tames the faint muffled-spring ping that silent pads sometimes expose, and sharpens the otherwise muted signature. Films are unnecessary given how snug the V2 housing already is.

Verdict

The Ink Silent Black is one of the easier silent linears to recommend: it keeps the Ink line’s smoothness and tight tolerances while delivering a genuinely quiet, cushioned bottom-out. Buy it if you need a near-silent board that still feels premium and deliberate. The only reason to skip is if you specifically crave the sharp, resonant clack of the standard Ink Black. Silencing trades that away by design.
