Is the Gateron Magnetic Jade Ultra HE a Hall-effect switch?
Yes. It's a magnetic Hall-effect (HE) linear, so it needs a board with magnetic sensing — Wooting, SteelSeries, Corsair, NuPhy, MelGeek, KBDfans and similar HE PCBs. It will not work in a standard mechanical board. It's N-pole-down, so confirm your board's polarity before buying.
What is the "dual-drive" architecture?
The stem is split into two parts: an upper section that governs the keypress and a lower section that activates the magnetic trigger. Separating those jobs keeps the stem more stable through the full keystroke and tightens the feel toward the bottom.
Does it need lubing or filming out of the box?
No. The spring ships factory-lubed and the switch is smooth as delivered, so it's effectively a drop-in. There's little to gain from hand-tuning a magnetic switch you're using for analog actuation.
