Frequently asked
Will the Magnetic Spark 33g work in a regular mechanical keyboard?
No. This is a Hall Effect switch that reads keypresses with magnets and sensors instead of metal contacts, so it requires a magnetic/Hall Effect PCB. It will not function in a standard hot-swap or soldered MX board, and it may not even play nicely with every HE board due to magnet tolerances.
What does the adjustable actuation point actually mean?
Because the sensor measures how far the stem has traveled rather than a fixed contact location, compatible boards let you set the actuation depth yourself — shallow for fast gaming triggers or deeper to avoid accidental presses. Many HE boards also expose rapid trigger and per-key tuning.
Is 33g too light for typing?
It's very light, closer to a gaming-first weight than a typist's switch. Fast players love how little effort it takes, but if you tend to rest your fingers on the keys you may find yourself triggering presses unintentionally.
