Frequently asked

Will the Gateron Milky Yellow HE work with any keyboard?

No. These are Hall effect switches and only work in magnetic, analog hot-swap boards built for N-pole-down sensing — Wooting, certain SteelSeries, Corsair, NuPhy, MelGeek, KBDfans and similar. They will not register in a standard mechanical PCB, so confirm your board is HE compatible before buying.

Do the Gateron Milky Yellow HE switches need lube?

They ship factory lubed and feel smooth out of the box, so most people can run them stock. Magnetic switches are also not designed to be hand-lubed like a normal linear, so leave them as-is unless you really know what you're doing.

How heavy do the Milky Yellow HE switches feel?

They start at roughly 30g of initial force and ramp up as the magnet approaches bottom-out, giving a light, fast top end with a firmer landing. They sit on the lighter side of magnetic linears overall.
